About
City of Hobart's Youth Arts and Recreation Centre (Youth ARC) is a safe, fun and engaging space for all young people aged 12-25 years old.
Our Youth Programs focus on social, creative and inclusive opportunities for all young people. These include:
- Open Access Drop-in sessions (Tuesday - Friday | 3 pm - 6 pm)
- skill development workshops in art, music, dance, cooking and creative interests
- Platform Youth and Creative Culture youth magazine and publications
- performance and showcase opportunities to share young people's skills and talents through community events, our in-centre art gallery, Art on Victoria outdoor gallery
- youth leadership through volunteering and the Youth Advisory Squad
- program collaborations with external services and schools
- bookings and hire of the Youth Centre.
Our main facilities include a basketball court space, 8 ball tables, tables tennis, video games (Nintendo Switch and PS4), dance stage and mirrors, PA system for music, kitchen, café space, art gallery, art room, music and recording studio.
